Corrupt save files are usually caused by one of a few issues:
- Damaged/bad/failing storage, either internal storage or your SD card. We've also seen that some Android devices' SD card storage doesn't play nicely with the game, so even if the SD card isn't damaged or failing, the game might have trouble reading data from it. You could try saving to a different storage device, or using internal storage, to see if this improves anything.
- If you have a poor/unstable Wi-Fi or data connection, your save file could be damaged when it's uploading to the Google servers. You could try signing out of Google+ (or go into Google+ and then into its Settings -> disable access for The Bard's Tale) and see if that helps prevent corrupt save files.
- A small number of users have reported to us that the Autosave feature can sometimes lead to corrupt saves on their devices. You can disable Autosave in the game's Settings menu and try continuing to see if your save files no longer become corrupted.
Unfortunately, once your save file has been corrupted, there's generally not any way to restore it.
Our recommendation is to make multiple manual save files from time to time just in case one save file is lost due to an issue like this. You can do this by disabling Autosave from the game's options, and that will prompt you to save to a specific slot each time you visit a save point.
