If you are encountering black screens when videos play in Wasteland 3 and are using Windows 10 and have access to the NVIDIA control panel, open the control panel from your desktop toolbar:
From there, select Manage 3D settings under the 3D Settings selection > scroll down to Vertical sync and then select either Use the 3D application setting or the off setting.
Be sure to restart your game to ensure the settings have taken. If you are still experiencing a black screen at the beginning of the game, please check to make sure that the correct NVIDIA Control option has been selected, and then restart your system before reattempting.
---
Players that are running the game on the Windows N version, may not have the proper codecs to play the Wasteland 3 intro movie, which can result in a persistent black screen when the game session is started. To resolve this, please download the media packs from the following link. Install these, and then restart your PC.
If the above information either did not resolve your issue or did not apply to your situation, you may need to consider clearing the registry keys for your game.
- Run Registry Editor from the Start menu.
- Navigate to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\InxileEntertainment\Wasteland 3 and delete the folder.
If the steps listed above still did not resolve this for you, please reach out to our support through this portal.
