Given the significant amount of upgrades and changes made to the game, saves prior to the Director's Cut update will not work. You will need to start a new game to experience The Bard's Tale IV: Director's Cut. However, if you wish to continue playing your save files on the older version of the game, you can continue to do so. The Director's Cut will show up as a separate game in your games library.
